Most fractional CFOs come from corporate finance. They’ve read about construction. I built my expertise inside it, at every level of the industry.  From the board room of a $5 billion general contractor to scaling an engineering firm from $1M to $100M. This is what that experience looks like working for you.

A high school dropout with a graduate degree from Oxford.

I hold a postgraduate degree in strategic finance from Oxford’s Saïd Business School. I am also a high school dropout. That combination is not accidental. It reflects exactly how I think about construction finance, deeply practical, built on real-world experience, refined by elite academic training. I don’t talk above the people I work with. I talk directly to the problem.

I learned construction finance at a $5 billion general contractor.

I learned construction finance at a $5 billion general contractor.

My entry into construction finance came through a direct working relationship with the Board Chairman of a $5 billion per year general contractor. I didn’t learn construction economics from a textbook. I learned it at the highest level of a major construction organization, developing a granular understanding of how the industry’s financial mechanics actually work, from bonding to billing cycles to the daily cash dynamics that determine whether a project-based business survives or quietly bleeds out.

I scaled a business from $1M to $100M.

I joined an industrial engineering firm as Head of Finance and Accounting when it had 8 people and $1 million in revenue. By the time I moved on, it had 400 people and $100 million in annual revenue. I built the financial infrastructure of that business in real time alongside its leadership team, the forecasting, the reporting, the capital strategy, the systems that made that growth possible.

Construction owners deserve CFO-level expertise. Most can’t afford it full-time. I built the solution.

Construction owners deserve CFO-level expertise. Most can’t afford it full-time. I built the solution.

After more than a decade in construction and project-based finance, I founded Locust Street Advisory on a single conviction: construction business owners deserve the same quality of financial leadership that Fortune 500 companies take for granted, at a cost structure that actually fits their business. I am as comfortable walking a job site with electricians as I am presenting financial strategy in a boardroom. That range is exactly what my clients need. I integrate into your operations. I manage your cash daily. And I tell the financial story of your business in plain terms — to you, your bank, your bonding company, and your leadership team.
